"Your gold and your silver have rusted; and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume your flesh like fire. It is in the last days that you have stored up your treasure!" James 5:3
That's how this life is. All that you have and everything you have ever accomplished will one day be junk. When you die, you will leave it all behind. You will pass out of time and space and into eternity with only yourself. You will then stand before the throne of God to be judged by Him. "....it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment," Hebrews 9:27 If you lived a perfect life on this earth, never having done anything wrong, then you will easily pass God's judgment. But, if you're like other people, you will admit that you have not lived a perfect life. You are in the same boat with every other human being: we are imperfect. Some may be worse than others, but we are all guilty of having done something wrong. "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it." James 2:10 A murderer cannot be declared innocent. Crimes must be paid for. You may be a good, moral person, but your crimes, though they may seem trivial, must be paid for. This is because God's standard is perfection. That's why there is no more important question you can definitively answer for yourself than, "got Jesus?" He is the perfection you need to be declared innocent by God. "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me." John 14:6 Whatever wrong you have done, Jesus has paid the price for it. More than 2,000 years ago, in Jerusalem, on a hill called Golgotha, he suffered execution in your place, to make it possible for you to be forgiven of your sin. You may think that you do not deserve execution for your sins, but a sin, however trivial it may seem, is a wrong done against an infinite God and therefore requires an infinite penalty. If you want to be declared perfect by God you must ask him to forgive you for the wrongs you have done and receive Jesus Christ into your life as your perfection, your savior and the one whom you will then begin to obey. If you do this, it will be the very moment that your sin is removed and you are made free from your guilt. The Spirit of Jesus will fill your soul and bring you the joy and satisfaction you have always longed for. The choice is yours. God loves you and wants very much for you know Him and to have all the longings of your heart satisfied in Him. Please know that life on this earth is like a fraction of a second compared to the life we live after physical death.
James 4:14 Now is the time to choose. Your eternal destiny depends on the choice you make here and now. There is no chance for you to choose after you die. Will you accept Jesus Christ and a life forever in heaven, or reject him and be condemned forever to hell? Which will you choose? Remember this: If you choose neither Heaven
nor Hell,
you still have made a choice and God himself will hold you accountable for
it. Feel free to
